There is tension in the empty nest of Greg and Kate, complicated by the onset of a mid-life crisis for Greg. Into the mix comes Sylvia - a stray dog Greg meets one afternoon in the park where he has “played hooky” from his job to reflect on his life. The bond between Greg and Sylvia is immediate and profound-- love at first sight. Greg joyfully brings Sylvia home, but Kate is less than enthusiastic. Their social life and her job prospects abroad seem threatened, and as Greg, Kate, and Sylvia each try to resolve the ensuing crisis, we enjoy being able to “hear” all sides of the conversation.
